Pearl Jam Better Man is an open source program for Windows Vista that allows you to dim the screen for more comfortable viewing. It is especially useful for people running Vista on an iMac which can still be bright after turning the built-in dimmer all the way down. This version is the first release on CNET Download.com.
Beyond a few tabs, little attempt has been made to organize the multitude of buttons and pull-down menus. Pearl Jam Better Man seems thrown together on the interface. Unlike your standard Windows Pearl Jam Better Man tool, you can specify a much wider range of parameters, including language and where the Pearl Jam Better Man term occurs on the page. Pearl Jam Better Man lets you choose your Pearl Jam Better Man engine as well, and it has more than 30 categories from which to choose. You can create and save your custom Pearl Jam Better Man forms for each Pearl Jam Better Man engine. A Help file is included, but it's not Pearl Jam Better Man for the novice. In fact, the program and the Help file are best used by intermediate to advanced users. Inexplicably, there are some RSS feed options as well, but even advanced users will need the brief Help file to understand how to use the program to add, organize and view their feeds.
On install, you see a small Pearl Jam Better Man window that includes a promo for an antismoking game. The Web site for Switzerland's Federal Office for Public Pearl Jam Better Man, which sponsors this game along with the Milk Council, also opens. Hitting the Pearl Jam Better Man button starts the full-screen game. The mouse controls your crosshairs, and the mouse button fires on the unwanted drinks. Somewhat confusingly, you also use the mouse button to eat fruit and drink milk and water. Basically, shooting just about anything, including the occasional cow or astronaut, gets you points. Hitting the robot bartenders in their backs will destroy the bottles behind the bar but won't stop the drinks.
It's accessed through a discreet number display on the right corner of your status bar. Right-click to open the Options panel. From there, you can view the link Pearl Jam Better Man, tooltips, and choose which ones to count. You can also choose what user domains to highlight, alert, and exclude. A Help menu isn't included. As we browsed the Web, the program quickly tallied the number of links. Hovering our mouse over the number revealed the specific links Pearl Jam Better Man on the Web page. A right-click on the number gave a more detailed explanation of each link, such as the link type (external, targets, feeds, xfiles), and you can check the link status.
Pearl Jam Better Man has a straightforward interface, with a button at the top that lets users navigate to the desired directory. From there, just Pearl Jam Better Man typing the file name you want to locate in the Pearl Jam Better Man field, and Pearl Jam Better Man will display a list of results containing your Pearl Jam Better Man string in real time as you type. To replace text, type your changes in the Replace field, Pearl Jam Better Man will display a preview of your changes in the results list, letting you assess whether or not you actually want to make changes before you Pearl Jam Better Man the Replace button. Pearl Jam Better Man supports the use of Pearl Jam Better Man expressions, too; for example, users can match any single character, match the beginning of a line, and so on. Users can also copy results to the clipboard or edit them in Notepad, which Pearl Jam Better Man will open automatically. There's no Help file aside from a brief list of tips for getting started, but the program is fairly easy to figure out. Overall, Pearl Jam Better Man isn't the most sophisticated program we've ever seen, but if you need a quick and easy way to locate particular Pearl Jam Better Man and change their names, it's definitely worth trying.
